Sayward/Oyster Bay Field Trip
10 birders had a great day at Sayward with full sunshine and no wind!!  In mid-afternoon we left the beautiful scenery on the Salmon River and stopped for more birding at Oyster Bay on the high tide, and finished the day at the Salmon Point Restaurant.  We noted 41 species at Sayward - PLUS Orcas and Pacific White-sided Dolphins !! - and 23 species at Oyster Bay, for a total of 55 species for the day.

Northey Lake
Today 12 birders spent a great morning at Northey Lake (thanks to Betty Brooks) and an afternoon at Oyster Bay on a rising tide.  55 species of birds were seen, plus several Harbour Porpoises.

Englishman River
Seven birders travelled to the Englishman River estuary Labour Day. The weather was sunny making for great birding on both sides of the estuary. Highlight of the day was the sighting of 3 Heerman's Gulls. The following 62 species were seen:

Mount Washington
Seven birders ventured to Mt Washington this past Saturday. We arrived to find a heavy frost covering the boardwalks making for a slippery start. We walked to Battleship Lake then along to Helen Mackenzie and back to Raven Lodge. The sun was shining and the following 10 species were viewed by the group.

Oyster Bay
There were several hundred shorebirds at Oyster Bay this morning as well as a good number of Swallows, Purple Martins (several still feeding young) and a raft of 70 Surf Scoters. 5 Birders saw the following 22 species:
